Dr. Chris McKinny, Director of Research at Gesher Media, is a leading archaeologist and biblical scholar with a Ph.D. from Bar-Ilan University, Israel. He is currently involved in major projects, including the theatrical docudrama Legends of the Lost Ark. As a faculty member at Jerusalem University College, Chris regularly publishes in peer-reviewed journals and teaches biblical archaeology and historical geography. He also co-hosts the "Biblical World" and "Behind the Bible" podcasts, delving into the archaeological, historical, and cultural contexts of the Bible. Week 1 – Introducing the Land of the Messiah Map

In this 13-minute lesson, we discuss the map’s purpose and the governing concepts behind its design including the idea that Jesus is Lord and Caesar is not. We also discuss some of the “easter eggs” on the map.

Week 2 – Exploring the Main Map of the Land of the Messiah

In this 25-minute lesson, we examine 13 events in the life of Jesus that happened outside of the region of the Sea of Galilee and Jerusalem. While much of Jesus ministry was focused in the north and in the capital, he was also very active in the regions of Judea, Samaria, Perea, Galilee, and Phoenicia.

Week 3 – Investigating the Sea of Galilee

In this 28-minute lesson, we focus on Jesus’ ministry around the Sea of Galilee and his chosen home of Capernaum. This video features analysis of the archaeology, history, and geography of many Galilean Gospel sites.

Week 4 – Examining Jesus’ visits to Jerusalem.

In this 14-minute lesson, we introduce Jerusalem and Jesus’ early visits to the city as recorded in the Gospel of John focusing on the archaeological context of the Pools of Bethesda and the Pool of Siloam.

Week 5 – Experiencing Passion Week in Jerusalem.

In this 28-minute lesson, we analyze the events of Christ’s passion from the Last Supper to the Resurrection using the map to track Jesus’ movements in 1st century Jerusalem.
